I`m very happy that a traditional
site still exists in the internet. I join your site every day for
school projects or something like that and the informations are
very helpful. please go on in that way. Best wishes
(Student from Austria)
We're a homeschool family, and I
wanted to write you a quick note to let you know we think this is
a great site! We found it while doing a search for Pearl Harbor.
I have bookmarked it, and will use it daily. Thanks for all the
work that went into it.
(Family from USA)
Thank you for the detailed and complete
article on the Irish Potato Famine. I am most appreciative of your efforts.
(Woman from USA)
Congratulations on a most informative
and much needed website that honestly addresses the facts of the 20th century genocides. As an Armenian
American I am most interested in the topic of genocide - not only the Armenian Genocide but the genocides of all people. Thank you!
(Woman from USA)
I think that this civil war site
is the best i have ever seen. I wasnt that interested in history
until I came to this site! Thank you so much for creating this site!

(Girl from USA)
Thank you for taking the time to
provide all this information to the world...
(Man from Scotland)
Thank you for an excellent web-site.
I was searching for a quote by President Kennedy for my thesis and found so much more!
(Woman from Denmark)
I am a 20 year old Vietnamese student
living in the States for as long as I can remember. I always thought I had a good grasp on the history
of my own people, my own nation, but after reading through your site, which
encouraged me to do further research (always good) I realized there
was so much more to learn about.
(Student from USA)
I want to thank you all very much
for the"The history Place" In my history class i was having difficulties learning the criteria, but after
I used these, I was into the class discussions, and I was getting A's on
all of my tests. They have helped me SO much!!! Thanks again!!!
(Girl from USA)
You have produced an extraordinary
example of studiously researched data, and displayed it in an insightful, interesting, logical and thought-producing
manner. This web site should be mandatory reading for any serious
study into the agony and horror, that was The Holocaust.
(Man from USA)
I only can say that my english is
unfortunately very poor to describe my feelings about your Auschwitz photo essay... We live in times that
can bring back the old fears to Europe. Racism is increasing in
a terrible way across the western countries of this old continent. The Jews from yesterday are the
African people from today, we must prevent this, and teach, teach,
deeply. Culture is the power, and the perennial remembrance of those
horrors must be an obligatory commitment to the educational staffs
in the whole world. Congratulations for this emotional testimony
and congratulations to the History Place Webpage. A work well done!
(Man from Spain)
To the people who made the history
place web site: Your web-site is really cool and I have found it
really helpful with information and things for school. History is
the best subject. No one at school believes me but it's the truth.
Ok bye.
(Boy from USA)
I am a teenager. I must say I really
enjoy your Child Labor page. I have an obsession with newsies and
I printed many pictures off this site. I love it, so keep up the
great info, thanx for creating a great place for me to view old
pictures at my leisure, I love it!!!!!! I love history and read
all I can about it. This just shows me others do too!
(Girl from USA)
I am a member of the board of education...We
have been wrestling with the Progressive brand of Social Studies
pressed on us by the Education Department for some time. So far,
the majority of the board has been unwilling to buck the system,
but each time we re-engage, we gain a little support. We have reason
to hope that this is the year that we will just say no to junk scholarship.
Thanks for the work you do. There are people listening and trying
to return some sense to our school curriculum.
(Man from USA)
Translation: I have already read
over the Holocaust, have thought I read all the atrocities against
these people. But the eyewitness report of the German engineer over
the execution made me very concerned because of the description
of the emotions of these poor humans. This deeply human behavior
shook me. I have cried about these poor humans and for your soul's
welfare will pray. We Germans can thank you Americans on our knees
that you released us from this yoke. Thanks and continue.
(Man from Germany)
As a vet of WW II I wish to express
my appreciation of your web site. I have only visited one of your
"parts", looking forward to more.
(Man from USA)
Your site is the greatest resource
on the net. I have not found a site as well done and informative
in all my years on the net. It is a tribute to the positive uses
of the net. It gives me as a young user hope that there is more
to the Web than just naked women and advertisements for credit cards.
Thank you for being good people, and doing a wonderfull job on your
site
(Student from USA)
Thanks for the wonderful work on
your website. I almost burst into tears when I saw the pictures
of these hopeless children who were exploited during the industral
revolution. To be frank, I am still shocked with what I saw and
read. Although I have read about child labor and I even passed my
tests and assignments on this particular topic excellently, I never
realized the extent to which these child laborers suffered. Once
again, thanks for the website. I pray that God forgives everyone
who encouraged child labor in the past and those that are still
encouraging it-especially in West Africa and Asia.
(Woman from USA)
As a son of holocaust suvivors i
would like to thank you in the name of my father r.i.p. that his
all family murdered at those darknes times. your web site is a very
good document for every one who want to know more or to learn about
the holocaust.
(Man from Israel)
Thank you showing history facts
this way. You have done a lot of good work organizing the material
to be accessible for all ages. We shall never forget.
(Man from Norway)
I'm ten years old. I was looking
for lots of information on history because I love history. I was
searching the web and I saw your website and decided to check it
out. I looked through it and found the Declaration of Independence
and I was so excited because I always wanted to read it. What I'm
trying to say is your website is a awsome place for history.
(Girl from USA)
Thank you very much to give us the
opportunity to know all this horrible history. I will show it to
my childreen, to prevent to it will never happen again.
(Man from Brazil)
Thank you for a fantastic web site.
About a year ago I read through your entire Holocaust contents and
was genuinely and profoundly moved. Thank you for helping us to
never lose our sense of origin and purpose. If we lose sight of
where we came from, it will become increasingly difficult to determine
where we are headed. God bless you and your hard work.
(Man from USA)
I am just a boy. I have never really
seen war, just what has been on the TV. On the movie "Saving
Private Ryan", that movie was probably the most you can get
to a real war I guess. I still can't see how my grandfather slept
at night, if it really was like that. My grandfather was a great
man, but passed away in March. I thought that if I saw that movie,
then it might give me some realism of how serious war is. I still
can't believe the number of people that died. But it isn't really
just World War Two, all the time that happens...I think this web
site helped me understand the war that my Grandfather was in, and
I thank you for putting it together.
(Boy from USA)
I am 15 and in the 9th grade. I
had to do a report on Adolf Hitler and I wouldn't have been able
to do the excellent work that I did without your site. I am truely
impressed with the work that was offerred. It goes into so much
detail, it's unbelievable. Thank you for doing all the work.
(Girl
from USA)
I have been reading some of your
timelines, and in particular the one covering Holocaust. I find
it very interesting, and want to let your know this is very useful.
Many young people in Europe as well as in the US, are trying to
rewrite history and claims Holocaust never happened. Your Web-site
is an important contribition to the truth about this. Thank you,
(Man from Norway)
I am probably the least history
sort of person you ever met, but I got onto the net and stumbled apon "The rise of Adolf Hitler" on
your site, and I literally couldn't stop reading... Thanks
for a great site cheers
(Man from South Africa)
Rarely do I take time out to compliment
a site; however, in this case I feel compelled to make an exception. I was simply searching for
a general timeline of WWII events, but upon stumbling upon your site,
I got much more. In fact, I spent the better part of 6 hours completely
engrossed in the contents - which is not at all my normal practice.
In short, your site demonstrates all the positive qualities I believe
the internet should contain: a large repository of valuable information,
easily accessible, intelligently arranged. My compliments and thanks
to all involved in its creation and maintenance. Cheers,
(Man from USA)
OK, I want you to know that because
of your web page, my wife is probably mad at me since I ignored her for the last 4 hours reading
"The Rise of Adolf Hitler"...My father fought in WWII under General
Patton in Europe. Like many of his fellow WWII veterans, he has
never felt comfortable with speaking about the horrors of that particular
time. Unfortunately, when his generation is gone, a very valuable
piece of history will also perish. Thank you for a very interesting
and well researched article.
(Man from USA)
My daughter's school has not seen
fit to teach her about Pearl Harbor. I am a former history teacher
and using my resources and yours, I was able to explain the significance
of this day. Thanks again for your informative web site and I will
be visiting more in the future.
(Man from USA)
May none of us ever forget such
a shameful passage in what has been an enlightened century. Perhaps
such enlightenment came from the realisation that man could be so
barbaric as to attempt to wipe out an entire culture, and must therefore
be ever vigillant to guard against such base and cruel acts for
any reason.sadly our track record as a species since the holocaust
has not been that good..we can only continue to try. Thank you for
never letting us forget.
(Man from Australia)
Your homepage rocks! Quite informative.
We're studying the Nazis now in History 12 and the "Adolf Hitler's Rise To Power" article
helped explain things & clear what really happened. History books leave out
things or add other stuff but this had everything. Thanx!
(Girl from USA)
I'd like to thank the people at
"The History Place" for presenting an outstanding Web Site. This site is everything that the World Wibe
Web was conceived for and is about. I started browsing your section
on The Second World War, and saw your links on The Holocaust. I
can't tell how you saddened and grief struck I am. I have three
small children of my own, and seeing and reading about the death
of so many innocent people, children, reminds me of my own mortality,
the love I have for them, and the fear I harbor in my heart that
this could happen any time, any place. I don't always admire Americans.
But I do admire the way you do the good things. Good job people.
Thanks again,
(Man from Canada)
Me and my friend are very interested
in American History, and I appreciate your website...We have both
memorized the constitution, and the Gettysburg Address. We have
looked at several "history" websites, and none compare
to yours...We are both in 7th grade, and have been studying American
History since 1st grade together. Awesome website! Your website
admirer,
(Boy from USA)
You are doing very important Job!
Recently, me and some mates from my work were looking for some information
about World War II and Nuremberg Laws, and the search led to your
site. Your site is full of important and professional history information.
Thank you for that,
(Man from Israel)
My compliments and much honor to
your work! The best website I have ever visited since. I'm an italian graduate in modern history and I appreciate
a lot your site; I put it in my favorites' list. Keep on like this
!!! P.S.: excuse me for my not so good written and spoken english
(Man from Italy)
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I am a 16 year old girl, from Australia, and I am doing an assignment
on Jews for History class. Your page has definately touched me and
opened my eyes to the atrocities of the Germans during the second
world war. I pray this sort of thing will never happen again. Thank
you for helping me to see what the human race is capeable of. I
pray I will never see it first hand.
(Girl from Australia)
This is a wonderful history page,
please keep it alive. I hope many young people in the US and throughout
the world will visit it and learn enough history so as not to repeat
the mistakes of the past.
(Man from USA)
Each year, as I begin my Holocaust
Unit for my eighth graders, I search for new materials. Finding
your web site is like finding a teacher's goldmine. Thank you so
much for all your resources, information, and links! My students
have learned so much from just this one web site! Please continue
to add to it and I will continue to spread the word to all my fellow
teachers.
(Woman from USA)
Thank you for this site. It is not
only informative and well organized, but it includes everything. I am a student in Canada and I have been
studying the Holocaust for three years now. My studies have led me to meet
a survivor, as well at the books and papers, I have written. It is
a subject that I feel deserves more respect and attention than it is presently
given. A history teacher showing Schindler's List to a class is not enough.
We truly need to understand the mistakes of the past if we intend to
avoid repeating them. I am pleased to see that someone is telling people
the truth, even when it is not what they want to hear.
(Student from Canada)
I want you to know that I believe
that your site is one of the best I have ever seen. I love history
and all the lessons we learn from it. I loved your stark portrayal
of the Holocaust as well as the tasteful way you described the death
of President Kennedy without the morbid photos and speculations.
I was fascinated by the account of Hitlers life and shocked by the
mass cruelty and ambiguity of the German soldiers and people. Please
continue with other great historical chronologies and accounts.
I never E-Mail a site but this one was the exception. Thanks again!
(Man from USA)
Thank you for establishing a wonderful
site. I am a teacher of World History and Advanced Placement European History. I have used your
site extensively in preparing a Powerpoint Presentation to supplement
my teaching of the Holocaust. I plan to require my advanced students
to visit your site and am going to recommend it to all. The ready availability
of quality sources such as yours makes it so much easier for us
teachers to relate history to the current electronic generation
of students. (It also makes it easier for us to justify requesting
more money for computers and other fancy toys.) By
the way, I used the picture of the two young boys you had at the
head of your Holocaust Timeline as the title slide of my presentation
with only the words "No One Heard" on it. As I was walking
around the room helping other teachers learn Powerpoint and had
that slide sitting on my machine, I couldn't help noticing the number
of teachers who simply stopped and looked at that photo. One kept
returning and finally told me, "I just can't get those faces
out of my mind." It truly is a powerful photo.
(Man from USA)
I really like your pages on the
war as they are full of information and are easy to view, as i am a schoolkid i find that this helps me
a great amount and I am glad that you made this page.
(Boy from UK)
Saw your web site for the first
time today. It is awesome! I'm a history teacher and I will tell my students to look up your site. Your doing
a great job and a great service.
(Man from
USA)
I found your site a delightfully
refreshing. It's proof that there is intelligent life on the Internet. Bravo ...
(Man from USA)
I am a teacher of History at a boys'
school. One of the main difficulties in teaching history is the
lack of readily available and easy to read source materials. Your
web site provides such material. The teaching of the history of
Nazi Germany is now a lot easier with the use of your material.
The photographs in particular are useful in exposing the full horror
of the regime...We thank you for your hard work in producing for
general consumption this web site...
(Man from USA)
I have just one thing to say--outstanding!
I am very impressed with the job you have done on this site. I am a US history teacher, and I
am always looking for new ways to present the material I must teach.
The pictures you have included with the WWII timeline are phenomenal,
as is the information. I hope that in the future you will expand the subjects you are offering material on; this will make it a trult excellent
site. Please keep up the good work-there are not nearly enough good history sites on the Web.
(Man from USA)
I just want
to write to tell you how great I think your site is. I am just beginning
to truely explore the web and am glad to have found your site. It
is just want I want to see on the web, informative, important sites.
Thank you for your effort.
(Man from USA)
